could that be A-zone? the one I work at has MSD stuff in stock, will be getting 2 for the blazer/bird. will either get the accel or msd for the boat. 20% discount really adds up don't it? :lala:
Mine is hung (isn't everyones?????)
on the passenger area, firewall over hang.
I have no coil in the stock brcket location.
I made a "L" bracket, hung coil upside down attached to bracket.
Others say it's not recommended to hang upside down.
I've had not a single problem.
It will HELP, it is not a total cure.
But, it cure will hlep.
You'll hardly notice the subtle difference, but, it's a good choice!

I found an Accel Direct fit Coil at Pepboys for GM Cars. Bolted perfectly in. I don't know the specs on it though, but it sure is better than My old one!

what is the advantage of mounting it away from the stock position besides all the heat from exhuast manifold? Or is that the only one? How much damage will the heat cuase?
Heat leads to premature failure.
Always keep auto electronics away from engine/sun heat.
MANY drag racers actually have fans blowing on their in-car ignition boxes.
Can you say:
"heat soaked starter woes"

To the guys that shop at Pep Boys. Please shop elsewhere. They have a REALLY BAD rep with customer service. link for details. They have a bad rep for refusing to fix WHAT THEY SCREWED UP. Even look at the vendor boards on THIS site for problems. If you can live without for a couple days, do the mail oder. PLEASE.

As for the Coil Mounting...how would I go about relocating it?
I made an "L" Bracket.
I hung it frm, that area, upside down.
It fits fine and the wire is close to needed energy source.
Give it a shot, by holding it there with your hand, upside down, wire hooked to distb.
It's one option that worked for me.
Made bracket from "thick" aluminum, easy bend, absorbs vibrations
