I think he figured out theres more to it than just a piece of pipe , a welder and a bender. those things have to be precision fit. I ,m not taking a barb to you camaro hunter , but I thought the header thing would be more than you could handle.

Don't insult the man, at least he tried. It appears that both he and his friend have died. Oh well, so much for cheap headers, I guess it's back to working on the 305.

No my comp is dead at home, so I can only get online at school. The deal with the headers right now is this. I am making a set for DeadHero8. And maybe another set for RSCamaroV6 if he wants a set. After that who knows. I may get 1 set or 2 a week, IF I GET the time to do them. As I posted before I am only obligated to 1 person, on the sale of these things. I do not mean to sound like an ***, but that the facts. I have invested too much time and money into these and have gotten barely anything back.

Heres a pic of the bender... right next to my box... that has the tubing laying against the wall that the headers are being made from...
the only difference now is where that bluish tuperware box is my sterio is now sitting...

I did not notice that the inlet and center section of the turbo is sitting on that top of that black box thing... Hmm...

Whenever you have time dude, i will buy a set, no rush, but I want a set! Though I am hoping to have exhuast finished before october, so I can get it all welded, so I pass emmissions. My cat is bolted to my "T" Pipe and is leaking bad!

FYI - I want the Y pipe too!

I am very interested.............not in the rims though...........I want that black shoe! I only want one shoe though, and I want that one! Just kidding, I thought that would be funny.

Now on the more serious side, did you put the real headers you bought on your car yet? If so where did you get the gaskets for the cylinder heads? I'm getting my car out of storage May 13th and the headers are going on right away along with the cam fix. Thanks.

equal length headers won't fit, or wont work with the bender he has. At least he is making an effort/making them period for our cars. try finding headers for a 76 bonnie

ok

the ground effects for the 91. Yes I would be willing to sell them. The front valance has a rip in it though on the passenger corner.

Jaren, No I have not put the headers on yet.

SSC thanks for the thumbs up on the box.. Yeah I like it too... LOL

No those are 16X8's and they DO NEED adapters to fit a third. Someone has already asked to buy them too... I told him I would give him around 6 weeks.

And yes hopefully this summer I can get around to getting more involved with the headers again. As I will only have 1 class 2 days a week, and hjopefully a part time job.. No full time here buddy..! LOL...

I am tring to come up with a way that I can get the bends tighter.. Maybe a smaller die. But if I go smaller dir the extreme bend will also warp/ take the roundess out of the bend.

You should be able to find those at any auto parts store; even though our exhaust manifolds are "gasketless" at the head, they still make a gasket for them! (Don't know why, but it helps us out!) And I don't see why the same gasket wouldn't work for headers.

scratch that... I was so close to buying it... but my guardians talked me out of it... it's too much work to swap it in, it wouldn't pass emmisions, no guarentee it would last or run right, plus I only need my current car for the summers of the next 4 years... seeing as how I'm going to be going to colege and my car is going to be sitting in a parking garage most of the week, and -may- have to shuttle me an 1.25 hours home and back...

I don't have the confidence to do it myself or the money to finance it... so I'm going to save up all summer and whenever I work to buy a nice new car, hopefully for next summer... I came to realize it was a waste of my money to try to fix up the current car...

For those interested, the 305 was out of an 85 Camaro... the body was rotting away but the engine and trans were still good... could have had it for 250....

Oh well, **** happends

LOL yeah... the good thing is that you cannot see the pile of unused wasted tubes for the headers that are sitting in front of that 91... I am looking at a mid 80's Firebird now but my wife says no... After I get the 91 going I will get it... That is unless I get that 70's J20 Jeep truck I have been keping an eye on for a while now...

Xen, I wasnt trying to insult the man. I think its great that he is taking the initiative. I know how projects like this go, sometimes things dont always go as planned. And I also know that sometimes you can bite off more than you can chew , Ive done it a time or 2. The main problem I can see with his bender is it will no allow enough of a bend so he can hug the block ,and allow him to make the pipes all equal lengths. In order to get performance out of headers ,we all know the tubes must be equal in length to allow for even back pressure and flow. If not you are just as well off with manifolds .
I hope he can figure out a way to get the pipes equal . If not he blew alot of money and time.

There are alot of performance headers that ARE NOT equal length. If they are not equal length it comes down to timing the pulses so they do not collide in the collector. When that happens performance drops, other wise the engine does not know that the headers are not equal legth. Right now I am looking at another die, or maybe a completely different machine all togeather. But before all that I am still tring to get the odd length headers to work like I want them too. If worst comes to worst I may just put this thing up on E-Bay and make my money back, so I can have a good chunk for the next bender.

I just nabbed that Pen Cam from Office Max for $70... resolution sucks, but for quick pictures, it's pretty damn good. You just need at least Win98 though, while Win95 will support the USB, they didn't write the driver for a 95 system.

I have a design I am going with now. It is alot like the old(First) pics, but the runners are shorter and the collector is higher. I will try to post pics ASAP. I cam up with a different way to make them, and it makes things ALOT easier. I basically just bend 4 90* bends and 2 90 with a side 40* and slap them togeather.

And yes the conduit cutter(Pipe cutter) that I had bought DID burst into flames. I went out and bought a 170 machine by milwalkee(Spelling) and this thing is well... GREAT. Goes through like a 500 degree knife through SOFT butter. LOL

And for me making a set for my car first.. No that is not what is going on. I am making a set for Dead Hero 8 and I will let him post what he thinks of them after he has them installed. After that(and I get this damn TPI unit for my 91) I WILL make a set for MY V6 and make the cross over pipe, ect and then after that is done I will install the hookers I have laying beside my tool box.

Hey 'Dog I got the passanger side skirt/door panel off yesterday. I am still tring to find a box big enough. I may just end up taping them togeather and pack them in paper or something and cut boxes up and roll them in that. I will try to get them ready this week. Sorry man, but I had finals last week...
