haha....thats wierd. I swear everytime I used to start my car up in the morning it would do the normal surge to about 1800 and slowly settle down to 800. Then all of a sudden about a week ago, when up and them came down and almost stalled, then went up, and then back down. I never really remembered ever doing it before. So its funny you mention that your cars are doing it too....hhmmm...but mine only does it in the morning after sitting, sometimes....its not an everyday thing....at least not yet.

I could have sworn that your car does that to warm up your engine. Mine has done that every morning and most other cars I have do to. Could this be a problem?

On cold startups my car goes up to around 1400-1500 and holds steady, slowly dropping to 700 where it normally idles. It doesn't jump around at all.
Well except when it completely warmed up it jumps around about 100 rmps between 6 and 700, but cold starts are fine.

Elevario, no, when your car is trying to warm itself up, after you start it, it will idle high (like, 1000 RPM or higher), but it will be a steady idle. After the car warms up, the idle will drop to normal (600-800 rpm).
Gezzz I wish 600-800 RPMS was a normal idle for my car. It seems to like idling at 1000 RPMS. This is down from 1500RPMS. If any one has any clues on to get it come down with out turning the idle screw that would be great. I all ready fixed all vaccum hoses and all of the usal supects.

unhook your EGR, just plug the vacuum hose off. i went through a whole spew of things. i ened up reinstall the EGr system and quickly found that with it hooked up my idle did that lop thing, like someone givin it a small amount of gas then letting off, over n over n over.
I pluged the EGR vacuum hose and it went away. Nice smooth idle at 1000rpm. no lopin

Check, clean, adjust or replace your IAC, sounds like a sluggish IAC, they like to die on our cars. If you can floor your gas petel and the sucker takes off, YOU don't have injector problems.
I know I have one injector that is running lean all of the time, but my throttle respones is fine. I have cleaned and then replaced my IAC unit. It has left me confused for a long time. It gets a regular tune up and just about all of the ignition compents have been replaced.
