Will this work on a 3.1?
I ve decided to part out my 93 and was thinking. Will the heads work on my 3.1? Any help would be great. The heads are 3.4 heads.

Yes they will work BUT why not swap motors and sell the 3.1 93 Camaro and keep the 3.4 91?

thanx.....after talking to my bro-in-law . He talked me into doing just that. The engine swap. The 3.4 is going on a stand and getting rebuilt the way I want it.

i saw a site once where someone had swapped the entre interior out of a 4th gen camaro, took tons of fabbing, but when it was done it looked hard core. apparnetly the door handles are in a slightly different place, and need re-locating, and the dash needed some trimmming up to. But i'd personally say, do the seats, i'd leave the counsole because for some reason, i never liked the way they look with th rest of the 4th gne interior, i think it clashes to much. but do what ya want...hehe, good car.

do the 3.4l heads have a bigger bore?? Create more power?? I am thinking of redoing my s10 engine this fall. If that is a potental for it, I would swap the heads. Then I will also put my mpfi on it, along with them heads. OO how sweet an idea!!!

for all intensive purposes, unless you are using artificial power (tubro, NOS), you want the LEAST CC possible for more compression
although you dont want too much compression.......with too much compression, the space between your pistons and heads is so small that unless you use a fuel that will burn efficiently (high octane, sometimes $5 a gallon racing gas is required) your motor's going to be knocking (and soon on heavens door).
a nice compression ratio for N/A street engines is about 9.5:1

cc??? Higher compression?? So I wouldn't beable to use the 1:52 rockers then?? And the cam in truck might not work then?? Crap!!!

As far as the seats go. I ve already put them in my 91. And the engine. Well its getting a total tear dwn and rebuild the way I want it. And I will be running a lil spray thru it but mind you its still going to be a daily driver. But I m not 100% sure about the spray yet.

I looked at an online parts store, the heads for a 93 s10 2.8l and the 97 camaro 3.4l have the same part #. Now, I looked up for my 91 camaro, 3.1l and it gave same part #, plus an optional aluminum head, that it didnt offer on the other two. So how are the heads more powerful on the 3.4l then the 2.8?? I only see the heads that are optional aluminum being lighter, but not more powerful??

Actually the dash doesn't require cutting, you just need to make new brackets to mount the dash up to on the firewall. Also you'll need to make custom ducting for the HVAC. You'll have to custom mount your ECM, HVAC controls, and ALDL connectors wherever you want to. A very worthwhile swap!
As far as the door panels go, they are the same size, and don't require cutting either. You do however need to relocate the handles like 3 inches or so if memory serves me correctly. Obviously new holes while be required to bolt the door panels to the door.
With the dash installed that makes simply bolting the center console in. They use the same holes as your old one! Since you have a Camaro this would be 10X eaiser than with the 3rd Gen dash becuase the original console is a one peice design. With the dash installed the console will line up and bolt into place. You'll have to custom fab a window switch and hatch release. Most people use the ash tray. I put my window switches in the ash tray and my hatch release is in the spot where the traction control switch was. Also make sure the console shifter palte is a manual if you do the swap, otherwise you'll have to move you shifter over to line up with the indicater palte on the automatic shifter plate.
Well you already did the seats, so you know how easy that was, they simply bolt in.
I say DO THE 4TH GEN INTERIOR SWAP as well, when you do the 3.4 Long Block Swap Boogie!
You won't regret it! I can't wait to have a 4th Gen interior
already got a console

Yea the seats were ez to install. But 4th gen seats sit a tad lower than 3rd gen seats. But its worth the swap like you said. Cause when then designed the 4th gen seat. GM made it to wrap around your body like a racing seat does  So all I need to do is fab custom brakets for the dash? Where should I relocate the ECM and stuff? All that I wanted was the seats but if what you re saying is true and is as ez as you say then I ll put everything in my 91 . Just need yall to help and gide me the right way.

Last I took a look at changing out the back seat. The only probllem I see is I have no clue on what size wrench that is for the back rest portion of the back seat. Plus I became un-motiveated when I saw that. So what size and type of wrench is that? Also that 93 has power windows and locks can I swap them too?

It not a breeze to swap, but it will be easy if you know what your doing. Here is a site that describes the process of installing the 4th Gen Dash and Door Panels: http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/clutch/63/
Why not just use a cresent wrench, thats what I use. Its just a reugular nut just upside down. Open the wrench to the size of the nut

For the folding seatback, it's a 10mm wrench or socket. 13mm holds the seat bottoms to the car, one bolt in the center of each seat bottom, the backs of the seat bottoms are held to the car by velcro. Supreme Member

I don't see whats so difficult about the seats. I could have all five peices out in less ten minutes, its not hard at all, with the right tools of course
