Question about the EST connector...

I disconnected the tan wire yesterday to set the timing, but I realized my tachometer stoped working when I did that. I was wondering if I disconnected something else instead of the EST ?

Uh, did you disconnect a tan wire near the coil, or a tan w/BLACK stripe wire near the passenger strut tower?

If it didn't have the stripe, it was the wrong wire.

One end of the connector was solid tan, the other end was tan with black stripe...

Nope, you disconnected the tach signal wire. When you disconnect the EST, the SES light should come on and you will notice a change in engine sound/speed. The tach will still work though.
