The 3.4
I might try to find a 3.4 and install it into my car this winter.
What do stock 3.4L 93-?? Camaro/Firebirds runs?
I am guessing 16.5-17.2?
They weigh in at around 3300lbs...
So If I put that in my car,
My car weights around 2950 Acording to autotrader.com, I believe this is true because I have the base model Bird with NO ground fx/ no pw/ no pw/ no ph/ etc.
I heard they say around .10 or is it .01 for every 100lbs?
So my car *should* run around 16.2-16.9 paired along with 4.10 gears? Or am I exagerating?
Thanks.

dude, your car is not 4000 lbs. my 77 T/A was not 4000 lbs. (alathough it felt like when I had to push it
) was more like 3500. My 76 bonnie, recently sold, weighed in @ 4675 registration weight. The 3rd gens are about 200-250lbs lighter, roughly around 3300 or so (depending on options)

that sticker is most likely stating what the max weight could be counting 4 pass, luggage & full tank of gas.

its probally the Gross Vehicle Weight, not the curb weight.
I went outside and checked the stickers on the driver's door jam, and this is what I read: 4034 LBS. GVWR, which stands for Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. This is supposed to be the maximum the vehicle can carry including the vehicle, accessories, passengers, cargo, stereos, dirt from the road, and probably bugs that got splattered on the windshield at high speed. The sticker says that the max capacity is 4 persons and 701 pounds of passenger weight, so that puts this car at about 3300 pounds or so. I would say that it is at least 150 pounds lighter than the V8 cars, so it probably is around 3200. Of course a couple of big subwoofers and some high powered amps could easily add more than 100 pounds to that.
To verify that this is indeed the maximum weight rating for the car, my sticker says in another place that the front axle is rated at 2012 lbs max, and the rear is 2022 lbs max.
Hope that this clears up the weight thing a little bit.

Your local truck stop has a scale that will work. You may want to go in and ask first but most of them offer it as a free service, like air.
I think most of them are automatic, as the truckers leaves they pull on to the scale and it either just displays a number or spits out a ticket.

Gumby is right, Yer local Truck Stop has a scale that will weigh yer car with in 50 lbs or so. Cost $7 to $10. Look for the big CAT scale sign, pick a time when they are not busy. Go in, talk to the people at the fuel desk - tell them what you want to do, they will look at you funny. After they say ok, drive up on the scale, be sure to get on one section(there are are actualy 3 scales, for the trucks). There is a Red light, when it turns green, they have your weight. Pull around, park, go in, pay, get ur ticket.
