Quick question about roller rockers?

Can we use a 1.52:1 or 1.6:1 small block chevy roller rocker?

I remember some guy coming on this site a while ago and saying something along these lines.

The only reason I ask is there are tons of SBC roller rockers out there, and on E-bay and if we could use them, why don't some of the guys here pic a price and wait it out on e-bay for another great mod.

only ones that fit are the ls1 rockers. tthey're the narrow body rockers. you'll still need to get the jm nuts to fit the metric studs.

Ok, man, kill the caps.

Another thing, I'm fairly certain SBC rockers will work. Anyone know for certain?

Yes the SBC Rockers work. The motor in my 83 has a standard SBC rocker on it when one broke off on my uncle.

I think you need taller valve covers if you opt to go with the 1.6 ratio. 1.5s fit with the regular valve covers.

Okay,
This is the problem with this question you get 6 different answers.

So the SBC rockers will fit if you use fiero vavle covers, or stock covers with 1.52:1? But this means they have to narrow rockers?

due to the small space available, the rockers are narrower than conventional rockers. Not sure if it applies to reg chevy rockers, but the full roller rockers need to be the narrow body style. as far as I know, crane is the only company to make them.

The only difference for rockers is that a SBC rocker is designed for a 3/8" stud, and might be a bit wider in the middle. Our motors' rockers take a 10mm stud. And as you know, those two sizes are pretty much the same. I bet you could fit SBC rockers on the head, and then grind them down a bit where interference occurs. 614streets is the name of the guy you're looking for, here's the message:
