TSi Camaro?
I am thinking a lot lately about building the camaro that GM forgot a twin turbo 3.1L mill in my mostly stock 91 camaro. the trans is freshly rebuilt and the car is just sitting unused for the time being. but it is 230 miles away right at the moment. if anyone has good quality pics of their 90-92 v-6 engines out of the car please post them for me
thanks
thanks

Turbo 6-er Camaro? All I gotta say is...mucho dinero. I think Cam Hunter D (however he spells it out) was working on a turbo setup for his 6 but I think he dropped it and is working on his turbo..Conquest was it? I saw one the other day...never heard of them but it was beautiful. Looked JUST like an 80's Supra..

thanks for the pics guys, I know it will be somewhat difficult but I can take my time and hopefully my mechanical engineering degree will help out a bit here

we all know the 3.8 like twin turbos. I would not be suprised is a 2.8-3.1 was more than happy with a single turbo.
go ram air/ turbo maybe. add a bit of pre boost.

I'm not really stuck on the idea of twin turbos, a single is an option too but I was thinking like twin t-25 turbos something small like that just gotta get to the car and get working on it I'll probably start this summer if all goes well
Hello fellow mechanical engineer... I have also toyed with the idea of turbocharging my 3.1 liter 1992 Firebird, but other things have priority right now. I have a friend that is into turbo cars pretty seriously, and we have talked about it at length. Here was our general line of thinking:
(1) A single turbo would be much easier to fit than twins would be. We were going to custom fabricate the Driver's side exhaust manifold, and put the turbo out in front of the engine. The passenger's side exhaust manifold we were going to leave alone, so that we wouldn't have to fool with changing around any of the emissions stuff. The exhaust from the passenger's side would route under the engine and into/thru the fabricated driver's side manifold. The dump from the turbo would be tough to route, but it may can go back under the manifold on the driver's side, and back under the car.
(2) Use a turbo from a 2.2 liter Turbo 1 non-intercooled Chrysler FWD 4 cylinder. It would be big enoughto provide 10 or 12 pounds of boost to the V6, and can be had in the junkyards really cheap. You can also get an intercooler from a Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, an SVO Mustang, or maybe an import. Get a Mitsubishi blow off valve from any wrecked turbo Mitsu or Eagle.
We had ideas about fuel delivery etc... but I don't have time or space to put them down right now. Just hope this jogs some ideas in your head.

Oh and it's not quite a 3.1, but it's the same block, if a picture of the motor out-of-the-car will help: http://www.geocities.com/tomp_3rdgen
