service engine soon, after thermostat
service engine soon, after thermostat
today i replaced my thermostat, it is a 160* it
wile i was installing it, i spilled some hot radiator fluid on my airintake sensor, (it is seperate from my airintake for now) nothing got in the air cleaner tho, i think the coolant got on some other wires,
the car is back together, except a throttle body gasket. ill get one tomarrow. i fired it up and it just started to light up service engine soon. it kinda runs rough at idle, but drives great. i was wondering if anyone knows what i should check.
ohh and i think my fan is stuck on.
i checked my 2 sensors on the throttle body, i dont know what else to check, i didnt undoo anything... else i dont think.
i have never changed a thermostat before, everything is tight, no coolant leaks
please help me out, any help is apreciated

What year 2.8?
I thought i read somewhere that a 160 degree required some reprogramming, as the engine never really warms up enough for the computer to be happy...

One other thing - unplug your battery for a couple seconds, then plug it back in - clear all the codes, in case some of those were old. Then see what happens!
ok ill unplug it, its a 1992 3.1, the car didnt run like this befor i put the new thermostat in, i hope that it will work from a fresh start...
this mornin i started her, she didnt want to go in gear, i had to slp the clutch to get it to not stall, once it warms up a little its not as bad,

also, is the coolant sensor the pipe that goes into the intake hose that atatches to the tb? the other end connects to the passenger valve cover?....
cuz i was lookin in my haynes book, and it had an arrow pointing to something in that area, but i cant find anything that seems like a coolant sensor...
