High Flo Converter
ok, i know i should post this over in the exhaust forum, but im a little more comfortable over here
so with that said..... i have the converter i want.. a catco from summit, it says its a slip fit, for any gm in this year (86), and its alot cheaper than the direct fit... so my questions are,
is this a good cat for my car?
will it improve sound (make it a little louder\deeper)
will it improve power (prolly just a little bit, but hey every lil bit helps)
will it be fairly easy to install, or is this a project that can take a few hours... maybe even days... ( its a d.d so i can't have her out of commision for 2 long!)
by the way, its a 2.8 with a dynomax super turbo muffler on it, thanks for the input

It's easy as pie. You take the old one out, and put the new one in.
Bring it to a shop if you can't cut/weld pipe tho!

That's why I prefer the direct bolt-in. Plus if you ever change your cat-back exhaust, you won't need anyone to cut/weld the old/new system off/on.

Product catalog
Exhaust
Catalytic convertors
Search thru the list until you find "2.5 inch slip-fit inlet, 2.5 inch ball flange outlet"
Click on it. That's the one you want. Direct bolt-in. NO welding of anything necessary.
For further assurance, once you click on that convertor and it's on your screen, click on Product Applications at the bottom. Magically, you'll see Camaro & Firebird in the list.
This is how I Find all my part numbers... I should write a tech article on how to find part numbers.
Other option is to call Summit at 1-800-230-3030 and ask them for a part # and price check. That's how I found part numbers before the world wide web ever existed as we know it today (graphical display, internet explorer or netscape navigator, or hell, even before AOL was around).
