omg, hi2u Virginia Beach!

where do you live?

IIRC the 3.1 TB is the same as the 2.8 MPFI setup.

if you really want a bigger TB, you can go here:

The throttle body flap size of a 3.4 throttle body is VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL to a 2.8 throttle body air door flap.
The intake manifold of a 2.8 will also adequatly support the demands of the larger 3.4 air managemnt system needs, too.
The V6 MPFI set up (2.8/3.1) is a versital performer. As is, since introduced in 1985, the "size" needs have NOT needed to be changed.
DON'T ATTACK YET.
It is ONLY when the demands change (Rising RPMs & power to the higher level that "we owners seek"), does the original design NEED be changed.
THAT SAID....
About 90% of the time, the ONLY true increase to the original V6MPFI is the increase of COLD FRESH AIR to the original AS IS MPFI system. The benifits of the TB coolant bypass, SEEM NOT to return the gain expected.

The damn V6 60* MPFI works great. This intake set up is a very good design.

The only true "increase power" results of my 2.8 swap to the 3.4 long block?
Increase the outside fresh air coming to the 1985 TB housing, reduce the air incoming temp and remove that "box between the Firebird Air Cleaner box & the TB". See my hokey air cleaner set pic below. That white tube & some "modifications" really helped my 3.4 swap pick up LOTS of Freeway speed Horsepower when passing cars. I replaced the original platic box for recemt smog testing & I definetly lost some horsepower.
You Camaro owners have it made easy for fresh air packages for this mission!

Serioulsy, increase fresh OUTSIDE air flow to the TB, reduce air inlet air flow TEMPS & ya win better than any other efforts. Especially when passing a car at high speeds

I don't even think you will notice any difference from using a larger TB.

nah, you would need headers and a bigger cam before you should need a bigger TB.

Headers (and good Y-Pipe)are the most important upgrade on our engine's, mostly any other upgrade you do wont add power if you dont get headers first.

BTW, you have a PM.

Ways to get your 350 ride CHEAP!
Get an EARLY CARB'd V6 (82-84), easiest to UP GRADE to a V8!
Next is "fix" your 3.1 & sell it & grab a V8 ride of enay engine size & THEN swap in a rebuilt 350 mill.
You'll win WAY ahead of any other options.
Or await Street Legal headers from PaceSetter (write to Mr Fred Gerle of PaceSetter to support this plan, cause it will be possibly for sale by perhaps Christmas, fgerle@PaceSetterExhaust.com) & the corresponding HiFlo "Y" pipe, make your own fresh air set up (many are around, do a search), upgrade ignition, swap in a 3.4 and you just may be pleased, also!

Write to support production of Street Legal headers for the 85-92 60* V6 in a 3rd Gen!

if you want a 350, i would get a bare block or a shortblock and build it up in your garage on an engine stand, and make sure you get it carbed. TPI sucks for high end power, so you are just better off going carbed.

When you got the engine all built and crap, then you should put it in the car. Its a pain in the *** building an engine while still in the car.

And since you live in VB, you dont have to worry about any of that emmisions crap, as long as you have a cat on it you should be fine.
