Do a compression test and be SURE it's not a head gasket issue. My friend ran his 3.4 hard once with about 8000 miles on it, and managed to blow the head gasket.

The only other cause I know of, other than coolant, is tranny fluid somehow being sucked into the engine... I think a bad modulator valve might cause it... auto, or stick?

Give your motor a random drug test

Not to worry too much if its only on startup. Often just oil seeping through the oil seals on the valves when car is sitting.

durring my engines tirades, it started turning out white smoke for a little bit, now it's back to no smoke, & some black (usually when I want to take it in for **** smog test)

Could it be some moisture in the exhaust getting burned/heated out?

Check your PCV valve it could be sticking.. That happend with a different car before but never with my camaro. Take it out and shake it if it rattles easily then its probably not that. But it wouldn't hurt if you changed it.. the part only cost a few bucks

mine does the same thing! everytime i really lay into the gas theres this weird squealing sound and the whole back half of my car gets engulfed in white smoke. no idea what that is. or why i keep getting tickets for it

seriously though, check your PCV, and also your coolant. white smoke sounds like antifreeze, in which case, you aint gonna get by with any 3$ pcv valves.......

My 3.4l did that, I "think" it was a leaky injector. Doesn't do it now after swapping them around.

Long as its just off and on, it most likley a valve seal. Each time you shut the car off the will be arranged in different orders. And once in a while the leaky one/ones have the valve in the right position to leak oil down the cylinder.

A real leaky one will shows it self on the plug.

No big deal really and almost expected. Them seales are kind of simple and should be changed atleast every 50,000 miles with a nice valve job.

I had a leak in on of my valve seals i just put that blue engine restore stuff that looks like its in a silver beer can, after about 100 miles it started working and the leak and smoke was gone and I have a lot more power.

Leaky injectors also tend to make the car hard to start almost immediately after it is shut off. Lets say it sits for a minute while your in the store, then you start it back up, but it takes a few extra cranks to start then normal. Is one symptom of a leaky injector(s).
