I would ask how are you going to pick it up, etc. You can give me payment then.
See what kind of response, if it turns out to be the confusing type as before, ignore it.

I would be leary of the second one as well. These cars are a dime a dozen. Remember that first and formost.
Send the info he is asking for, and ask for the same information from him. IF you get the information back, do your best to verify what you can. Go online and see where the area code is from, and actually call to make sure the number is 1. real, 2. is the actual person looking for the car. Then look the address up, and call the tel co to do whats called a "reverse trace on a phone number", you give them the addy, they give you the number(if listed).
If they (the "Potental" buyer) get offended about you checking on it, they might have been doing a scam anyway. And you could say that I was just confirming the information you gave me.

A tip on your add.
Remove this bit
"The car is driving very good but it could need a MAF sensor and an EGR valve because I have a code 32 and 34. I called GM and the MAF is about 130$ and the EGR valve is like 20$. It could also need SMALL floor work on the passenger side (the driver side already been done professionally) but it's still strong enough. "
save that bit of info till they come to buy it and adjust the price if necessary. Its make its sound real fishy when your asking a fair price for a good running car but then say it throws code and your not gonna fix it or know if its fixable. [You could change them and the code stil don't go away]
Let them know about the floor when they look under it.
Your giving away to much info. And could be why your getting these scams email. They know it ain't gonna sell and are trying to tempt you into screwing your self.
Its hard to be asking so much for a nice car and it need a MAF and EGR. Change them yourself or if the car drives fine screw it.
Just say it throws code and your not sure why, "it drives fine" as they are test driving it.

I'm selling my 1989 Pontiac Firebird Coupe. Please read carefully what I have to say and look at the photos.
My car is a 1989 Pontiac Firebird Coupe hard-top. It have a 2.8L Multi-Port FI V6 engine, 4 speed automatic transmission, electrical windows/doors/trunk, tinted windows, remote starter, Alpine CDA-9807 CD player and 4 JVC speakers. Everything is stock and original except the paint job. I bought it almost 3 years ago with 84 000 miles and now it have 114 100 miles.
Here is what I replaced or did in 2003: windshield, battery, timing chain (the whole thing), oxygen sensor, alternator, coolant and windows washer tanks, sparkplugs, sparkplugs wires, distributor and cap, serpentine belt, air and fuel filter, muffler and the 2 pipes, 2 ball joints, 2 coils springs, 2 shocks, 2 brakes pads, 2 discs, 2 galipers, 4 new winter tires P215/65/R15, changed the motor oil at every 3000 miles, changed transmission fluid a couple of months ago and flushed all the coolant and replaced with new.
The car is driving very good but it could need a MAF sensor and an EGR valve because I have a code 32 and 34. I called GM and the MAF is about 130$ and the EGR valve is like 20$. It could also need SMALL floor work on the passenger side (the driver side already been done professionnaly) but it's still strong enough. The car have AC and cruise control, but they don't work, everything is still there so it shouldn't be hard to repair if you wan't. The paint isn't perfect but look very good. Wherever I go, lot's of people look at my car and I love that. It's common to hear people that are walking in the streets say things like 'Awesome car' or 'Damn nice Firebird you got there'.
I'm selling the car for US 2500$. If you are interested, contact me by e-mail at jfbrisson@globetrotter.net or at waonfire@hotmail.com and I will answer very fast.

checks are usually fine so long as they are given time to clear in the bank.. money orders can be forged too, hence let them clear also.
