Antifreeze leak

Well, a week after having my car fixed ( or so I thought). I notice that there is an antifreeze leak. I have confirmed that the leak is dripping down the driver side of the radiator. Is it time to replace the radiator, or could this be different problem?

Before you go and replace your radiator, make sure all the hoses and lines are tight, and the leak isn't from something like that. Then maybe you could try one of those radiator stop-leak things that you find in the local autoparts store, I don't know how well they work, but I think its worth a try for the $5 they cost.

Damien00677 is right, check the hose connection at the upper hose from the thermostat to the radiator for a loose connection or cracked hose.

Be careful Picard, or I will have "Q" turn the Enterprise into a "RUSTANG" and have Data hide your VIAGRA.

Good, although I get the feeling that you are laying in wait for me.

Nope...just happens that way. I'll leave you alone...LOL.
Just trying to make you look good. "Q" has become permanently unavailable for comment or intervention. Sorry

I'll try checking the hoses tomorrow for leaks.

Does your 87 still have a few V belts? My 86 is a mix of new and V belt. The top radiator hose will rub on the V belt ease and it cuts a slow grove into it. That will just dribble. It just needs a tad bit of room more. Just enough to make a tiny leak.

I have my hose wrapped in aluminum flashing and the belt just leaves skid marks when it bounces or what not.
