How do you check V6 injectors?

I have the Haynes manual that describes how to check on a V8 motor. What's the procedure for V6's? Can you remove them one at a time to check the spray pattern and for leakage? I'm pretty sure my starting and stumbling problems are injector related.

How many miles are on your car ?

Are you positive its injector related ?

Sure its not a bad plugwire or a dist cap that needs to be changed ?

Are all your vacumn hoses in good shape ?

If your sure its injectors , they problebly need a good cleaning .

I had this same problem your having on my old car, all my ignition was good , so i had my injectors cleaned and it did the trick .

It has 230,000kms on it. After it sits over night it usually fires up right away. If you drive it around and let it sit for about a half hour or more, it takes about 7-10 seconds of cranking before it sputters to life (usually with a smell of gas in car). It sounds like the idle is rising and falling (don't have tach can't tell for sure) and when you flip the throttle lever the car hesitates and then starts to rev up. I've changed MAF, FPR, CTS, fuel filter, plugs, cleaned out the IAC. Sending my injectors to be rebuilt is not an option but what about getting them cleaned at a mechanic shop? Does that cleaning process actually do anything? How do you check the icm, coil and spark?

sounds very familer, I had same problem. Belive it was my coil and ICM get hot and start failing.

I also had "studder", bouncing rpm, sometimes stalling and not starting. Its not your injectors.

Car drives fine though. Feels like it's a little sluggish. When hooking up an external tach where on the distributor do I hook into?

I have the exact same starting problem and I also suspect the injectors. I will have a good look at my injectors this summer.

Ok , I just scrolled up and read the post again , I have to agree with Dale on this one . I dont think its an injector problem . Sounds like and ignition control module problem to me . Im almost positive you can get it tested at Advance or AutoZone .

ALSO , when your Icm starts going bad , thats exactly what it does is not want to start when the engine is hot !

I've heard that replacing the ICM has helped some people with this problem but not me. If it's not the ignition, I would say definitely take a look at your injectors.
