depends on which cam (only one, not plural) you're refering to...i'm assuming the MTC-5. that and a set of 3.73 gears would do pretty good for ya. i would really look into posi to go with the gears and a shift kit. some people think that posi isn't needed but, trust me, you will be much happier if you have it. i'd guess that with that cam, a shift kit, and a posi 3.73 rear end, you should be looking for 16.5s atleast in the quarter. maybe around 83-84 mph, too. you car, with the speed limiter, will top out right at about 100 mph with those gears though. unless you change the speedometer gears in the tranny to match the 3.73 gear in the back, i would highly recomend this. if you do change the speeometer gears, you might be able to get the car a little over 100 before you hit the rev limiter in 3rd gear.

100 in 3rd. you can get the tranny to shift to 4th at wide open throttle but some internal mods are required. yes, stock computer chip does have a 115 governor. yes, you can add posi later just make sure that you don't have a 2 series carries in the car now and get a 3 series gear set. 3 series 3.73 gears are the most common i THINK 2 series are available. maybe someone else can step in with a little info here.

also include better intake & exhaust mods to take advantage of the cam, & the [shameless plug]TomP Tune Up*[/shameless plug] to take further advantage of the upgrades.

He's talking about the style of axle. 1,2, & 3 seiries axles, each require certain gear types to fit.

The reason these cars are goverened is GM put cheap tires that are only rated for 115-120. That is the whole reason any car has a limit. What ever the speed limit on the tires is, is where it get set. Usually a tad lower.

You won't find a 115 goverener on a Vette as it has 160-200 rated tires.

Goin over that 115 on Kmart tires is dumb. [GM pick em] Not saying your tires are Kmart brand but anything but Z rating is Kmart to me. Get some hi speed rated tires before you go flyin over 115 out of control from a blown tire.
