Great advice...........

Anyways, check for vacuum leaks. Listen for a loud hissing at idle. Also check for metered air leaks. Any leak inbetween the MAF sensor and the throttle body won't make a hissing noise but it will throw off your fuel trim and potentially set a 44.

Also, check your fuel pressure and make sure your fuel filter isn't plugged. You can check the fuel filter by removing it and blowing through the inlet side. There should be little to no resistance.

post MAF air/vacuum leaks would definitely be the first suspect. Also might have a clogged injector, exhaust leak prior to or near the o2 sensor allowing air into the exhaust, possibly even the MAF if it's not too out of whack and only reading marginally low.

Definitely don't take br()bert's advice though. The diagnostics are there for a reason, he's just allergic to electronic fuel injection.

uhm, actually Mory and I have discussed this subject alot im pm's.

Tech is right im allergic to injection, everytime I own a car that is injected I break out in a fit of mad curse words!

Seriously i tried everything to get rid of the wonderful code 44 and it always came back. So i learned to ignore it. After awhile when the check engine light came on id think "yeah its still under the hood" might not be the correct way to do things but my motor is half dead anyway.

That's what alot of people do with their code 32s, so I know where you're coming from.. but a 44 should really be tracked till the ends of the earth to get rid of it

What's this I hear about a future hole in a piston or two? Remember, run rich all day, but running like your a skinny girl that insists on a diet is a bad idea. Keep that healthy 14.1:1 diet.

i feel what all u guys are saying and thanks. let me just simplify this a little. ive changed all these parts im about 2 list and none of them are a year old. o2 sensor (4 weeks old), fuel injectors, fuel filter, MAF sensor (1 week old), intake resealed (2 weeks ago), new fuel pump (4weeks ago). Yesterday i took out my o2 and the tip had major black carbon or whatever on it in 4 weeks(never seen this) what does that mean? i cleaned it of with a rag and disconected the battery and the code still came back. 1 thing i will also add is that i put a new TPS on and ive tried setting it with a DMM and im getting no reading in the volts but only at the ohms 20k part of the meter. can u guys narrow it down fom this info ive given u?
