3.4 5 speed

quick Q...is the 5speed transmission from the later model maro/birds with the 3.4L engine a T-5 as found in the thirdgens? Also, besides the obvious stuff needed for a auto/manual swap in any thirdgen car, what else would be needed for this swap, as i have access to power boosters, pedal assemblies, etc from the local they-pull-it...plus the guys cool w/ me....120 bux for the tranny.

Yes. You will need the flywheel/clutch from it, as well!

No, they are not - they are all BW T5, and the 93-95 3.4's are WC T5, but with lower (numerically) gearing.

i thought 88 and up was WCT5 trans? if not, what was the big change in 88? because a trans mount was about $100 for mine, and about $20 for 87 and back. i thought i read somewhere on here that WCT5 was 88 and up. ill look around. will a trans out of a 93-95 bolt right in to our cars or what all has to be done?

yes, 88+ is WC. 93-95 just got different gear ratios.

The pre '93 ('88-'92) has a better first gear, but I believe the '93-'95 has a better overdrive...

I'll bet there is more than gearing to absorb better torque of a 3.4 5-speed in the 93-95 F Body.
Great score!
