Need Help Fast

I have bought a 1988 S-10 engine ( 2.8 L ) to go into my 1989 RS. My question is are the heads and the cams the same? Should i use the heads and cam off off the orginal engine cause i have bought the engine complete and heard it run. I am just trying to figure out if everything is the same or different. I know the basics like changing sheet metal and water pumps, but other than that any suggestions. Thanks

-Buck

did you say the engine runs when you bought it? if so why messs with it? easiest thing i can thing of is go down to your local parts store and inquire about the cam shaft tell them you want to know the part number for both cars....i think it should be that simple

Car: a car being parted out
Engine: blown up
Transmission: in peices
I would just flat out swap 'em and be done with it.
