That picture is not an F-body exhaust system. It you read the fine print on Summits website, it will tell you that the image show is not actually the product in question. Its just a generic picture.

Visit http://www.a-1performance.com if you want to dig up a sketch; on the left, click on the super turbo mufflers, then on the right, click on "super turbo systems" and put your car info into the pages- then look for #17495.

Oh for cryin' out ...
I just noticed why; and we all missed it. Wrenchman, you put up WLK-17495... with a 5 at the end. We take 17493, with a 3 at the end.
But it's still the wrong picture.
Look up WLK-17493 for the correct exhaust for our cars.

My friend had a true dual exhaust on his 305. It was 2 pipes and it exited by his left rear wheel. It how ever didnt leave any room for mufflers. That was fun.

It sounded wicked with no mufflers and headers
he was just running it open header before he put that on. But it has no room for a cat or any emissions stuff but it was bad *** took 2 hrs to put in.

I always wanted to put dual Supertrapp mufflers on, one pointing out in front of each rear tire- but at an angle, facing backwards but "slightly" nudged out away from the car.

Ya know I think I saw that once in a junkyard. Were the mufflers side-by-side where our "normal" muffler is? I thought it was a custom job, but thinking back, I'm pretty sure it was an 82-83 crossfire because I remember wondering why someone would've fabbed up a custom exhaust for a problematic motor.
Oh and that Supertrapp setup would cost me for the mufflers and the pipe; I could weld it up myself- which probably isn't the answer you're looking for, Wrenchman!

well to be honest tom p, i was looking into doing somthing a little unique my self, thats why i asked. Right now im thinking about mocking up a side dump, right from the cat, to a 19inch thrush, and perhaps some flex pipe and dump it right beight the pass. wheel, just don't know how much room im gonna have, not much, if any, but it will give me somthing to do over break, it would go somthing like this.....
cat
flange pipe
tube glasspack
ruffly a foot or so of pipe,
90 deg. bend
more pipe (or tip)
im afraid the pipe is gonna hang 3 inches under the car, making it look real bad, and taking away some ground clearance. i don't know how it's gonna sound... proabably real raspy and loud.... but, if it works, that would be cool
maybe if i get it figured out i will send a pic

Oh, okay, cool! I thought you wanted to know how much for a shop to install something like that. One thing I've heard/read about tho, if mufflers and tailpipes exit near the side of the car, there's gotta be some kind of heat shield above the muffler and/or tailpipe so the carpet doesnt start smoldering/catch fire. Granted, those might've been big block v8's, but it's not too hard to just throw a piece of sheetmetal above a pipe.
You could probably raise the floor a bit if you had to, but if any framerails get in the way, it's gonna be a problem.

The history board has a diagram of that setup.
Two major drawback to that system were that it was still using the old pellet style converter and it was only 1 7/8 diameter. Probably contributed to the cross fire's lackluster
I often wondered if one had a 2 1/4 mandrel bent system molded after that one and mated the back half of that system to the N10 dual cat option offered in later years if it would be a decent system.
Probably more expensive and just as good as the Dynomax but... then you would have duals
