So today I'm sitting in my english class the door opens and the "head" of school security calls me out of class, i'm walking down to the office thinking what I could have possibly done.. So i'm walking the security guard tells me to follow him, As he takes me to the Principal(usually you'd go to a Vice Principal) So i'm thinking wtf did I do? I sit down in the chair, he asks me "So you like to spin your tires?" I was at first like wtf, then he starts telling me how on thursday I was reporting burning out in the parking lot (My car was at the shop on thursday) at 430 (I get out of school at 210, I dont sit there all day and burn out). He starts telling me about his 55 chevy like I give a damn. Then he says theres another report of me fish tailing out of the bus circle, I don't go near the bus circle ever, so I'm thinking wtf, and hes just sitting there acting like I'm the biggest criminal in the world, So he shows me the video tape, of the fish tail Its a black GTA, "I'm like that was nice, to bad it wasn't me" the principal looked dumbfounded "Thats a transam, If You Havn't Noticed theres 2 large white stripes going down the middle of my car, and it isnt a pontiac" I wanted to call him a f'n idoit and he was wasting my time, while I was trying to get an education but Instead I just walked out and went to class.

 

HAHA ouch man. People call my TA a Camaro all the time. Then they try to act like they know what they're talking about.

One time I fishtailed out of the parking lot and let 'er rip down the front street, and the next day like 5 people I dont even know came up to me to tell me 'nice car' and stuff.

But still, ignorant people bother me..

yea it kinda angers me a little bit when someone confuses the 2 cars......possibly because in my personal opinion firebirds look better and i have one

LOL, how ridiculous. Even better that they had a videotape of it! I'll betchya they watched it a few times too, and never realized it was a different car. Good job on keeping your insults & curses to yourself... I don't think i could've been that well behaved. At least you can get all your friends to say "What's a Camaro look like?" when they walk by the principal!

Haha, "Head of security"... I guess "attention to detail" wasn't a requirement for his job? No wonder he's not on the police force as a detective!

Yep, it annoys me too when someone points to my Firebird and says "what year is that Camaro?" Especially when it says Firebird on both fenders AND between the rear taillights! (I usually ask them "Where's the Camaro you're talking about?") You'd think these people saw enough Knight Rider to know what a Firebird looks like, and that a Camaro doesn't look like a Firebird. I just chalk it up to stupidity; and hope that these people don't have children.

lol when I first got my '87 v6 (this was before the TA) My mom would always call it a Trans Am, and I corrected her each time. Now I refer to them as the "Bird and the TA, or the '87 and teh '86, but to her? It's the purple one and the white one.

 

One time I had a guy call my Firebird a Corvette!

 

lil kid on my street called my firebird a vette for years, would come out and say "nice corvette" guess he thought it looked like the other 3 vettes on the block....eh, whatever. I corrected him, he forgot, so finally i said, eh, doesn't bother me that much, least he doesn't think it's a camaro. jk.

my bird has been called a vette a few times , maybe because here isn't many birds and many vettes ither, but theres alot of camaros, so every day they tell i have a nice camaro lol

 

all i ever get is the usual nice camaro or vette but some people think its a thunderbird.... go figure

 

one of the guys i work with when i first started here said "i see you have the white boy TA" i couldn't stop laughing

 

A early 82 to what 88 bird can easily be mistaken for a vette by the smooth front end and lines. Most just look for the camaro headlight pockets.

I owned a camaro once and it was nice but people always ask, is it an RS , Iroc, Z28, berll.... and when ya say no. they are like, ohh its just s camaro. Girls were the harshest. Just having a camaro wasn't enough. It wasn't "cool" to them.

Most people don't even know cars well enough to know the TA is the upgraded Bird option. so they don't look at it like a base camaro.
