throttle/gas pedal sticking

my car started doing this a few weeks ago, but i cant get it to do it very often. and it doesnt stick so that its dangerous... it just sticks enough only when i bring my foot off the gas, the pedal stops for a brieff second and flips back against my raised foot. its just pissing me off. i tried lubing up the tb spring but today it did it again.

any thoughts?

I'd suggest finding another, experimenting on that spare one, then applying lessons learned to your in car.
THAT SAID, it could be carbon build up or even a worn shaft. GIVEN EXTREME TEMPS your way, it could also be....
Finda a spare one.
Also look in the FWD cars up to I think 1987 model year. Don't waste time in Fieros, they won't work

Check if it is a pedal problem or the spring that works with the gas cable on admission plenum.

My dad had a similar thing happen to his '87 Olds cutlass ciera, 2.8 MPFI Gen II motor. The bushing for the TB butterfly wore out. Our mechanic replaced the bushing, but about a year later it happened again. So this time I went out, went to a junkyard and got a JY throttle body- problem fixed until we junked the car.

Have some one push the gas for you and watch the TB and look for any thing binding or sticking. The cables go bad somes times and it might be time for a new one.
