Where is cylinder #1?

While you're lookin at the front of the engine, is the #1 cylinder on the left or the right side?

Are you guys absolutely sure about that? Every diagram I've ever seen shows the number one cylinder to be on the left bank nearest the front of the engine. That means number one is on the driver's side, or to the right of the viewer if he is standing in front of and facing the car. If you can show me an example to prove me wrong, I'd like to see it.

Yep, usually it's the other way, but with our cars number 1 is left, passenger side.

typicalling your looking at the engine when your working on it so you would go from that perspective. So left front.
