Oil pan clearance
should the oil pan be resting on the crossmember or should there be some clearance between them,I have an oil leak and it seams to be coming from were the oil pan is touching the crossmember,
I have another oil pan to replace it with, just wondering if maybe the engine mounts are broke and making the engine sit lower than it should be.
Any feedback would be apreciated.
Thanks
Bob

it shouldnt be touching, but I think it is so close you couldnt run your hands between the two.
If its touching, you got issues like mounts n such.

Look at other issues, too
As in how could this happen?
As in what would cause a mount to break
IF it's metal one, that's easy to see. And kinda hard to do. That's damn thick metal those engine mounts.
The rubber ones do not let the engine "fall". The rubber ones let the engine "rotate" under acceleration.
Distance is basically correct as stated finger distance between the two surfaces.
IT could be the opposite, as maybe someone screwed up the subframe. And that subframe is thick metal, too.
