what kinda car and were did you twist it off at near the filter?
get a new line or patch it depends on your pocket!
if its twisted at the fitting you will need a new fitting and a pipe cutter and a flare tool and you can cut the twisted end off and then slide fitting on and then use flare tool to flare the end so the fitting doesn't come off! then screw it back on?

its a 2.8 mpfi
it broke off right after the fitting and i have a slight kink on the other one about a foot away.
it was my brothers doing and im not very happy about it.
how much do you think it would cost for me to do myself and how much would it cost to have a dealer do it for me?
thanks

i know from uh... a ... friend of mine..yeah.. broke the same thing once. easy to fix. the piece from the sending unit (tank) to the filter is like $30 and the piece from the fuel filter forward could be had at a junkyard for pretty cheap.

Hey, I've got that same friend- luckily not on this project, tho.

A guy that used to be on these forums alot, Mikes86SC, found a kit at Pep Boys that he used to fix the snapped tubes. Find info about it here: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=100181 Which reminds me, I still have to pick one up just in case. I guess that's the same one you're talking about, Xopher?

Mnymaekr, what's the name of that flare? Where do they sell that kind of flaring tool?

Don't be too tough on your brother, stuff happends when you try fixing older cars. Its part of the territory, (and the fun). The fuel feed line which runs from tank to the fuel filter, and has a high pressure hose on it, is still available from GM. It will be a special order item. Call a dealer and ask them to do a search for you. Also check out www.inlinetube.com for the other fuel lines for our cars. They carry both mild steel and stainless fuel lines pre bent to the specs for the thirdgen F's. Classic industries also sells this stuff too.

a few years ago, i did the same thing w/ my 85 v6 bird. bought the line (filter to engine) from a chevy dealer for $11 and some change. might be worth a shot

actualy i was talking about me.
you know the old, "hey (person you are embaresed to talk too) i have this rash, i mean MY FRIEND has this rash ect...

i broke the one from the tank to the filter when i did my last fuel pump replacement. it was the stupidest thing, i was cutting all the rubber hoses and was replaceing them with new ones because, well they are 19 years old. and i cut that one too. but it is hardmounted to the hard lines, not hoseclamped like the ones for the pressure release, vent, and fuel return. that extended my project by a day.(had to order part)
