Ecu?`

well we started in on swapping the 350 but i have one last question can i just junk the ecu, and wipe out the computer or do i have to get a coupler of some sort for example like if the lights and all my other electrical is connected through the ecu? i need help with this and one more thing, what rear end and or transmission is typically used in the v6 cause i've got a 450 hp 350 and i really dont wanna blow the rear end out, and i dont have enough spare money to buy a th-350 kit for mounting that torque arm

depends,

1) should be in engine swap section , but since I'm here: what induction is going on 350: tpi, tbi, compcontrolled carb, reg carb?

ecm only controls engine, fan , & fp . With different setup, the last two can be rewired.

you can ditch the comp. completely. (i see under your avitar that you're goin carb.) tranny won't bolt up to the 350! rear end should be fine. if your car was an auto, you should have a 3.23 gear; if it was stick, you should have a 3.42. let me rephrase on the tranny...if its a t5, you have to change the bell housing but it can be used. if its a 700r4, it has a different bellhousing bolt pattern than v8s use.

Thanks guys! thank *** for this website or else i'd be totally lost in this swap, but i finally got 'r done and ran a low 13 first time around and a high 12 second time around with nothing more then porting/and poloshing my heads, i also milled my heads, i put a comp cam in that beast, a holley 650 carb, edlebrock torqer intake, accell superstocks and accell u-groove plugs, flowtech headers, 3" into a flowmaster 80 series, and come to find out yesterday the small block chevy was rebuilt and has about 1400 on it with chevy pink rods, and a forged crank but enough about my engine any other high performance mod ideas?

Yes sir that was with the little mouse motor the v8 swap really isnt as complicated as i thought it'd be and it was well werth the time, now i am a little worried bout that rear-end taking the punishment will it blow out on me?

if you have a stock 7.5/7.625 rear and it really puts out 450hp, you are probably going to wish you had a collection of spider gears, b/c you will destroy a lot of them. i've found that the auburn posi seems to hold up pretty well...
