Smog Questions
My car is due for the CA smog check at a TEST only site AGAIN. What are reasons to make my car fail i want to pass first time around here is what im going to do please add to my list if you can.
Run fuel injector cleanr in the gas tank
Clean the carbon out of the TB and spry some TB cleaner in with the car on.
New cap rotor and plugs
New O2 Sensor
New PCV Valve
New Fuel filter
Clean the air filters
Set timeing.
And change the oil
Go back to my stock chip for the test and get the car as hot as possible does this sound like everything i would need to do to pass. The bearings in my smog pump are shot but it still spins fine would that cause me to have any problems with smog like higher levels of something.

I haven't tuned my car since I guess 3-4 years now.
It only failed because emissions reading "showed no operational cat convertor" and at same time I knew to stick in new oxy sensor.
This Sunday I am going for my test only to pass.
Oh I also changed oil, too. It needed it.
IF I could use water (as gasoline LOL!) & pass, I'd be doing it!
Set timing when ya get there & then bump it back. You can go to 14* and not worry! I have it there!
Give me a shout if ya wanna come with me Sunday AM to Newhall. We can do testing same time! G0D! That's sounds weird!!

Yeah, I'll be testing Karl's car, so let me know if you want to come over too, we'll see what we can do.
As long as nothing is modified or not hooked up, then I'll see what I can do for you. If it doesn't go, then I can at least give you an idea of what it looks like. You just have to remember that you heard what it needs HERE, not at the shop...lol. Long story.

Something to check before you go is the EGR. If you have a vacuum pump, it's really easy. If you have an automatic then all you have to do is disconnect the EGR line from the EGR and hook your pump up to the end. then place it somewhere that you can see it from the driver's seat. get in and power-brake it. you should see a fluctuation in the needle. If not, there is no signal to the EGR. If you do, continue by hooking up the pump to the EGR itself and give it a few pumps, the engine should drop in RPM or stall. That means the EGR valve is working.

Last time i took my car in it was running at 250-260 there is something wrong in the stock chip that does not kick the fan on until it hits 260 so i will be well heated up maybe too hot.
The Cat is about 3 years old it is a dynomax direct replacement. I am not sure how many chambers are in it though. It is a high flow i know that much.
