I've used Chevron Techron in the 3.1 in my Beretta. I think I put it in there somewhere around 90k (at 116k now) and I'm convinced it helped. I don't have any proof, but I felt it was worth the $7. I have another bottle I'll probably use when I get to 120k.

Of course, if your plugs and wires are crap, injector cleaner isn't gonna do much for you.

In all honesty, the quality of todays gas is so far superior to using cleaners.....the phrase "Clean buring" is not a market campaign, it's mandated by EPA laws.
That said, I've always had great results with Liquid Gumout products.
PS Great choice in Corvette!
I have a 1974, and have had others, too. That's not the original 4-speed in there is it?

Yep, it's the original 4-speed. It was/is my parent's car that they've owned since '65. They are the 2nd owners. Their car, but I do some of the work on it and drive it pretty much whenever I want.

That should be a Muncie M-20.
1966 is first year of the M-21 & M-22 availability.
I enjoyed the shifting on my M-20 in my 1966.
Is your shifter throw shortened?
I did that trick on my 1966.
It was the factory shifter, also.
Relocate the stick shifter arms on the transmission, (if yours has this) to the lower attachment holes. Decreases gear change throws by a good inch or more.
Lucky, family owned since 1965! Good for you!

I've used valvoline synthetic injector cleaner and it did wanders. A salesman told me that the other cleaners contain tolulene and it damages the rubber after awhile. I had a pontiac 6000 that didn't want to start. I used something in a red bottle and it worked wonders. My car actually acted like someone put sugar in it.

no clue what to look for, I was told to the valvoline synpower was the best, I thikn that's what it's called. It wasn't the most expensive and it wasn't the cheapest so I guess it was good stuff. I would've kinda been weary if he would've pulled out a $20 bottle of injector cleaner

I have used valvoline, stp and some other brands but i like TL3 it is 3.99 a bottle and works great and you do notice a MPG increase after using it. My g/f did not use it for about 5 months put some in and her milage went back up. It comes in a black bottle used to be blue and i think its only sold at autozone.
