Doward, I will take your word for it and trust that this is in fact something I am going to need in regards to the MAF. As long as I can easily replace the stock prom and the staock MAF I am set for the smog ****'s- thats cake
.
2.8boy- I have biult this plenum with entirely spare parts and my original top plenum and stock TB go back on in the matter of about 5 mins with air tools-but you knew that already

To all you guys prattling on about off topic arguing, that is what PMs are for. chew each other out there that way good informative TECH threads like this one don't get locked
by mods due to pointless crap.
back to the matters at hand...So is there an electric water pump conversion for our cars yet or is it simply a custom job?
If electric water pumps are so great why don't the cars come with them stock?
Is it due to the greater wear life of a mechanical pump as compared to an electric one?
What is the downside
i would like to give a special thanks to the dancing lock, without it much of this post would not have been possible.*
*lies.

Electric waterpumps have not been the most reliable things over the years but have recently improved quite a bit. I know a few using the Meziere electric LS1 pumps on their cars and have been great for street use. Those factory pumps are cam driven so the electric frees up rotation mass that the motor has to turn. Meziere has been a very reliable pump now for moderate life usage but I still would not recommend one for a car that sees heavt street usage and long milage roadtrips.

The LS1 pumps are normal belt driven type, its the LT1 pumps that are cam driven.

omfg I'm pissed.
GN MAF = our MAF, in a larger housing.
lol.. I don't know why, I just expected.... a bigger difference.
Either way, it'll be an upgrade!
I pick it up Monday!

I'm going to find out today if they are the same connections or not... If so, I will have a GN MAF on the car this weekend

Ok, some updates.
1) I scored a '730 ECU CHEAP. Therefore, I will be running $58 code on a '730
2) GN Maf arrived today. Pigtail is slightly different. Going to see what can be done about that... but I've got the chip ready to roll with the GN MAF, see if it works or not
