FUEL INJECTOR ... clean or replace?

Car: only GM,88 camaro, 91r/s camaro, 91
Engine: Clean oil, looks fresh, no leaks
Transmission: Bright Red, never burnt, no leaks
Axle/Gears: currently whining
FUEL INJECTOR ... clean or replace?
ok i found where the tapping is comeing from with a stahtiscop., [lol] it is in the injector in the very front others are tapping but not as loud,. should i replace this injector or should i try and clean it.,,. how would i clean an electronic fuel injector? should i try the gas additive.,.,., it will cost 62 dollers at auto zone.,.,..,., But at least the knockin is not in the motor! so thank in advance for any and all feed back!

If the resistance of the injector is good then just clean them. But, cleaning won't stop the tapping. I had mine cleaned by rich at www.cruzinperformance.com and they still tap. Some more than others.
Any of that gas tank cleaner stuff isn't going to work as well as taking them out and having them cleaned.

well arent there some quality injerctoers that dont tapp that loud out there??
the quaot i got per piece for theses injectors was bout $60.,.,
every once and a while when i bump the key on i can hear that injecter in the front make like a grinding type pf primingi guess it would mean something was cloging it RIGHT???.

If it starts to sound HORRID, replace it.
The tapping is caused by the field coils getting weaker, allowing the control rod to move more than it should.
Eventually, the tapping will stop because the control rod has broken off, and fuel will be constantly flowing out of that injector.

so whats yall saying its broken orit can be cleaned,. what v6sucker said sounds like it makes perfect sence,. ill go with that
just straight replace it any one know where to get any cheaper injectors then $60 $65?? ,..,also what whould the car sound like if the injector compleatly goes

install, reset ECU and enjoy getting rid of the lean spots.
The tapping would be gone. The rings would burn up in that cylinder in no time due to no lubrication on the cyl walls (fuel wash does that). You would get a studder as the fuel would pool, similar to hyrolock, and the spark plug not firing due to being fouled all the time. And the tell tail black smoke trail everywhere you went as you dumped raw fuel out the tail pipe.

19lbs on a stock 2.8 will be WAY to rich. I had 19lbs on a modified 3.4 and it was still to rich.
I know someone who has some used 15.4lb 3.1 injectors forsale.

ok sounds good
if im correct to reset the ecu? i should or would dissconect the battery?`well im gonna do a 160 mi round trip i leave here in an hour.,., not sure what im gonna do yet guess ill try cleaning it of course., im looking to get the best gas milage i can., so maby if im able to clean it well enough ill save a lil fuel as well!!

Redraif had 19lbs on a modded 2.8, to much.
Anyway, you can try running a bottle of rubbing alchol thru the gas tank, it will clean them better then any "gas cleaner" off the shelf, and cheaper.
