Long as your not going to special race events you will still have fun.
Cause on open track nights every yahoo under the sun shows up with anything they got, inclding a lawnmower powered kitchen sink. So ya will never be the slowest.

But I wouldn't race anyone, just race the lights.
There is nothing you can do if someone is faster then you, so why race them? Just race yourself.

You will find your times imporve when you don't care what happens in the other lane. Long as you focus on just what your doing, winning is easier.

[Ill even wait till guy is staged n race is on, then crank the radio so I can't even hear them. Just don't pullup like that, they will yell at ya. Ear plugs are legal so.......... same difference in my book.]

Do you think it's worth modifying it?

well you guys have the advantage of having 3.23s or higher stock... ive got 2.73s and they spun a bit both passes, though 16.95 was the best one, and in that pass at milan a year back i was a smidgion quicker than my brothers 2000 Grand Prix GT 3.8, i lost because i redlighted tho.. what irks me tho is ive got a chip, manifold, and air cleaner assembly on board and yet i see threads like these..

I ran a 16.7@80 in the 3.1, N/A (before I put the turbo on) - so I know it will do that

My old 3.1 auto with a high flow cat and Dynomax catback, an intake, major tuneup and better plugs/wires, went 16.48 at like 82 mph on a good pass.

Like everyone else said, race yourself. See what kinda R/T you can cut on the tree....or if youre solely looking for an ET and speed, you can always let the other guy rip you out of the tree.

Once he's ahead of you, racing him is out of your head, then you can do your thing.
