Starting Problems..PLEASE HELP!
I have a 1990 Camaro RS 3.1L It is completly stock. I have had the car for about 9 months now. 2 days ago, I was driving, and it was running perfectly fine. I came home and shut the car off. Then the next day went to start it up, and all it did was crank, but didnt fully start. My fuel pump clicks on when you turn the key, and all my electronics work fine. There is a brand new fuel filter that i put in a month ago. The whole ignition system is brand new: Distributor, module, coil, spark plugs, plug wires, cap, and rotor are all less than 2 months old. What could be the problem??.. Please respond ASAP because I need my car to get to work!!

Sounds like what happened to me. My ignition module went bad. Is your SES light on? If so check what codes you get.

Check for fuel pressure
Check for fuel pressure. Spray some throttle body cleaner down the throttle body. If it trys to start your fuel pump might be shot. Relay will still come on but no pressure t5o start the car.
ALso get a fuel pressure tester and see how much fuel pressure you have.
I think it 40-42 pSi. Hooks up to the fuel pressure tester shrader valve in the back by your distributor. AUto zone sells them for like 25.00 d0ollars.

Now the car starts, and I drove it work today, and it ran great. But on the way home, it started bogging and just stalled. I pulled over and tried starting it again, but it cranks again, but doesnt start. I opened the hood, and the coil was cracked and was hot as hell. Wat could have caused this?..and will replacing the coil fix it?

My guess is that the coil is just old and the plastic housing cracked due to old age. Replace it and you should be good to go.

I respect your responce, and understand what you are saying. But I replaced the coil about a month before it cracked. So, it's not old enough to just break. I recplaced the coil yesterday and it started right up. But, to answer your question, it is cracked on the bottom of the coil, right above the intake manifold. Although I got the car running, I would still like to know what exactly happend and why it cracked. Thank you for taking your time to respond, I greatly apprieciate it. I love working on the 3rd gens but it gets on my nerves sometimes with the ridiculous things that go wrong, but thank you.

Hey, no problem. I always assume that components are old unless otherwise stated.
Since it's fairly new, I'd say it was just a defective housing on that coil and you shouldn't see the same problem again.
Congrats on getting that taken care of.

Ok. Thank you. I checked out your CarDomain page. Very nice. Did you polish the stock rims or did you buy aftermarket ones?
