no it wont bolt right up, youd be better off swapping an LT1 than trying a 3800 swap. your best "bang for the buck" is the 3.4 swap, bottom line. try a search on different engine swaps and youll find that out. and a 3.4 will bolt up to your trans, a 2.8/3.1/3.4 are the only ones that will bolt up.

Ok i got a question. From what i read from searching computer chips arent good for anything and a waste of money? Is there noticable power difference? If there worth the money will this work good in a 1992 camaro 3.1 v6? Is it possible to add more aftermarket performace parts after installing a chip? if it's an early buick 3.8, it wont' bolt up. IF it's a 3800 II, that engine block has a 60* tranny bolt pattern. Your newer yr dash electronics would fit nicely w/the II wiring. Just have to make sure you get the engien harness along with 95.5~97 are good, as the 97 pcm has the same pin outs as the earlier yrs, but is programable.

As far as the aftermarket parts for the 3.1, make a plan as to what your goal is, what parts you need, and what order you cain afford them. There is a sticky, or was, on the aftermarket parts for the 2.8/3.1 engiens.

if youre going to get a chip, do your mods and then get a custom chip burned. the stage 1 & 2 chips arent really worth anything, a few guys have even said they noticed a decrease in performance after putting them in.
