2.8 3Q's
Q1: i have a 2.8 camaro and it has the maf unit i was wanting to swap to a 3.1 map unit ecm, wiring ect, just wondering is there a better advantage to a map than a maf as in tuning wise with no restriction on the dumb sensor?
Q2: no on the 2.8 TB iwas wonder if theres a way that a machine shop can bore out my TB with one hole insted of two almost like the performance fiero TB but i call a Fiero Distributor in cali they said its the as a firebird just that the plenum sits sideways but it would bolt up to a fbody 2.8 just wondering if anyone has done it??
Q3:now on the edlebrock 2v intake i cant seem to find out if it just for carbs or can i put my plenum on it still anyone know?

2.8L ouch..
Are you trying to get more power out of the 2.8?
I had a 2.8 in my 84 Camaro, and it ran like a rock.
Replaced it with a free 403, lots of work, but was fun to drive after that.
Sorry I don't have any advice on how to give a 2.8 more power except for change the engine.
If you decide to build the 2.8, I would love to hear how it turns out for you in the end.
I guess I really wonder is, how much power can you make with a 2.8L.

not trying to start anything, but why did you post if you dont give advise on the 2.8?
onto the original questions:
Q1: yes a map system is much better for tuning.
Q2: not sure i completely get what youre asking? your TB has only one hole, so if youre asking if it can be bored out, yes with a custom valve made for the OS bore. but there are lots of other restrictions to overcome before the TB.
Q3: carb only. if you look at the top of it, its only got a big opening, it doesnt have each runner for the fuel injection, and the plenum wouldnt bolt to it anyway.

The 2.8 can make a decent amount of power but I would assume there would have to be alot internal mods rather than just bolt-on parts... Some of which may or may not work with the 3.1.

just about all the bolt ons for the 2.8 will work with the 3.1. i actually cant think of any that wont bolt onto the 3.1 right now. rockers, cam, UD pulley, t-stat, headers, valves, springs, pretty much anything that will go onto the 3.1, will go onto the 2.8. the only difference between the two was the stroke and from MAF to SD.
