timing
ok heres the deal my last harmonic balancer came apart so i went and got a new one. my timing before was set at like 56* and now its at 34* btdc i know thats not right but thats the only place it has the good throttle response and when i set it to 10-12* it is a real dog and dosnt let me go over like 35 mph can anyone help?
Did you install it correctly?
EDIT: To check, remove #1 plug and locate TDC of compression stroke by looking at the dist w/cap removed. Then look at the mark on the balancer and see if it is 0* on the indicator. If not the balancer may have been installed in side out.

u can damage/pull the outer ring right off the balancer like that, ur supposed to use a balancer that has the bolt holes in it,the bolts screw into the center hub so all pulling force is applied to the middle hub and not the outer ring
