2.8 - 3.1 or 3.4

I wanna swap out my 2.8
Can I just unplug and pull out and bolt in a 3.1 or 3.4 using the same wiring harness. What is involved in this swap

Re: 2.8 - 3.1 or 3.4

yeah, if you drop in a 3.1 from another 3rd gen F-body it should work fine. The 3.4 is complicated subject, but there exist 3.4 motors where the ONLY difference between them and the 2.8 is the bore and stroke. you just gotta find one or build one.

Re: 2.8 - 3.1 or 3.4

u can take a 3.4 out of a 4thgen, u need to swap the front timming cover/accesorys over, and replace the 3.4 upper manifold with the one off a 2.8 or 3.1,but u reuse the 3.4 injectors.other then that its all minor stuff to swap over
