turn key but nothing sometimes

Axle/Gears: 3.23
turn key but nothing sometimes

i have a 91 rs 3.1L with new starter,alternator,distributor,ignition coil,battery,cables,plugs.sometimes i turn the key to start but it does nothing and i have to turn it a couple of times before it decides to start.what do you guys think this might be?????all help is appreciated

I agree. That could be it. Or, maybe even the solenoid on the starter. I know it's a new starter but strange things like that have happened to me before in the past. Just a suggestion

thats what i thought also.how can i check if its that???how would i bypass that if possible???or repair it????

Check the resistor on your key. If its worn down you might just need a new key that matches yours.

Check the starter before the VATS. Mine would do the same thing and would always eventually start after 2 or 3 tries- until it left me stranded! That is when I found out it was the starter. The 'no start' was a warning according to my mechanic.

you could just do what i did and run two wires from the starter to a push button switch. you still need the key to activate the computer for it to run but other than that just press a button and you up and running. my vats went out. just a thought
