nos kit 2.8L

I rember a while back some one said something about a kit made for the 2.8 mpfi. Does anyone have the link or know the part numbers. Also I also rember someone saying that a 50hp shot is the max a stock engine will take is this true or can you go higher.

Re: nos kit 2.8L

There's no kit for the 2.8. Nos makes one for the 3.4, you'll need to get one of the universal kits. A healthy 2.8 can take 75-100 shot, if yours is 'well aged' I don't suggest any nitrous.

Re: nos kit 2.8L

Inject after the maf. I suggest getting a wet kit, the stock injectors don't leave much room for added fuel. The most you could probably get away with is a 50 shot and still have enough injector left to keep from going lean. Get a wet kit and start with a 50 shot and progressively work up to a 100 shot to guage what you're engine's happy with. If it doesn't like where you're at step it down 20% and call it good.

Idk about the wet cuz everyone is always saying that with a wet kit ull blow the intake off if you get a backfire. Thats why im alittle scared of buying a wet kit.

Re: nos kit 2.8L

Nitrous backfires can be fatal to the engine... and fun to watch!
But seriously, as long as you've got it tuned properly you don't need to worry about it. If you really want to go with a dry kit grab some #21 injectors off a 3.8 and burn a chip with the new injector constants.

Re: nos kit 2.8L

Ill probabally just buy with the wet kit cuz it will probabally be cheaper and easier. How should i tune it so it dont blow the engine?

Re: nos kit 2.8L

Just follow what the manufacturer reccomends. Some kits have you retard the timing, some automatically add fuel to artifically delay the burn, some (dry kits) don't require you to do anything and expect the ecm to compensate. Just make sure your engine is in tip-top shape.

Re: nos kit 2.8L

I believe the rule of thumb for a modern stock engine is a 20hp shot per cylinder safely. So in theory our V6s should tolerate a 120 shot, though I wouldn't try it with mine!

Re: nos kit 2.8L

i have its a dry kit had to put in 3.1l injectors to get the fuel for the 150 shoot to not lean out too much. i ran my buddys honda hatchback that runs mid high 14's i belive 14.95 and i pulled him by a car. track isnt open tell the end of the month. oh and that was at 750 psi not full potential of the kit i see mid 14's if not faster. also its a venom kit there expensive but i got it for free so hey. but if your gana run a dry kit with more than a 40 shot you need to run a larger injector. do not use 3.4 injectors nothing but poping. also have a set of good 3.4 injectors shoot me a price for them anyone.

also retard to 7 for best run
