cam sensor location

cam sensor location

hi guys , need some help , my nephew brought his camaro by my house tonight . its running poorly. missing then not missing.hooked auto x ray up to it . trouble codes for egr, cam sensor speed sensor, pass key.ive worked on the v8 tpis, 2.8 v6 but never the 3400. can you give me some feedback,and i need to know where the cam sensor is located if he replaces it. i read that if the tach is working correctly the cam sensor is fine? in advance,later jimmy

The 3400? Go check out fullthrottlev6.com or 60degreev6.com. They can help more; they're experts on that engine.

3400 would be a fwd motor not a camaro motor im assuing this is a 4thgen with the 3.4?

In that case, it's at the front of the engine directly in front of where the LIM is. Got three wires going to it with one bolt holding the tab down. Just unbolt it, stick a screwdriver in and pry up. Unhook from the harness. Takes about 15 minutes if stop for a beer.

well i for 1 appreciate it a lot. i think the other site will help my son more than me, he has a 98 gtp seems like a site he can use. me, im devoted to tgo.
