87 2.8 RS

I am really looking for some help. I am not getting anywhere with my car. I have replaced the timing chain/sprockets, distributer cap, rotor, wires plugs, tps, maf, fuel pump, fuel filter, checked the egr, iac, and fuel pressure at idle. my car seems fine on start-up, revs fine and idles beautifly but if i put it in gear and try to drive i get about twenty feet before she just sputters. there is no power at all. The only other things i can come up with is the fuel pressure regulator, coil pick-up, coil, or the main computer. The ses light does not come on until she stalls eventually. At idle i have 35 psi of fuel but no idea about under load. could any of the above mentioned things that i have not tried cause these problems?

Isn't the fuel pressure supposed to be between 42 and 47 PSI??

only at 0 vacuum u can check it at idle by disconnecting the line that runs to the fuel pr regulator and then it should have 43-45psi of fp

Re: 87 2.8 RS

I know that the cat isn't backed up because there is no cat. I thought that the fuel pressure was supposed to be between 35 and 45 i will look it up again in my haynes manual though

How do you check at 0 vaccum? Yes there is tranny fluid. when i say 35 psi at idle i just hooked the pressure guage up to the schrader valve and started the car. while it was idling, it read 35 psi.
