Definitely keep it. Not often that you get something with so few miles.

Re: Worth Keeping?

Only reasons I see to get rid of it....

1. Someone has offered you a stupid amount of money.. which I say hasnt happened because your asking keep or not keep.
2. You have no choice but to sell it to pay some bill or fee thats unexpected.
3. You have access to a car that runs fine, cheaper then you could sell this one for, that gets atleast twice the mpg, and same or cheaper insurance.

Re: Worth Keeping?

Thanks. Painted her myself. Bought it with 65000 on it.

1. I ask because I HATE putting mileage on it and i am incredibly **** about the car. Every small imperfection i may see drives me mental. Where i work (in the background) sometimes requires me to drive all over the damn place and the roads up there suck.
Theres a Grand Prix GTP for sale around here and my grandfather can lend me some of the money until i sell this OR i can pay him back with cash.
2. Im 18 so at the moment, having two cars would kill me insurance wise. If i take this off the road, it wouldnt see the road again for a while which means it will be stored for a year or more
If i were to sell it to someone, how am i supposed to know how they would treat it? see theres a clusterf**** of crazy going on in my head atm lol

Which is why you sell it to someone in here. Worst case scenario, someone replaces the v6 drivetrain with a v8. Best case scenario, someone adds the small touchups needed to make it show-quality.

Re: Worth Keeping?

I say keep the car. Its hard to come across low mileage 3rd gens that are in good of shape as yours. Its a great looking car, what do you pay in insurance?

Trust me, you wont have the car forever, and its gonna get damaged. Flat out.

I built a custom show truck, 4 years of my life and 25k+ in money. I did the works to it... shaved everything, custom motor swap, full air ride suspension, tweed inside, custom paint with flames and pearl, billet grill, stereo so loud I bowed my doors and cracked a window. Only thing I didnt do was a body drop. I Lost friends, lost a fiance. Sold the truck cause I was having money problems(imagine that?).

4.5 years later. Guess where its sitting? 3 miles from my house. Not one thing on it has changed unless you count the 13 dents, ripped roll pan, trashed bedcover, broken windshield, flat tire, chipped and scratched paint, and dirt so think I thought it had a new paint job. You think that doesnt hurt to see it like that? But there is nothing I can do about it.

You either need to drive it with pride and a smile on your face. Or sell it to someone far far away and forget about it.

And that gtp has worse insurance then your current car and gets about the same MPG, but requires premium gas. Look at my sig, you will see how I know.

^ For just liability, or full coverage....?

Either way, a Grand Prix GTP will be around the same, if not more....

200mo for one car?

I'm paying 120 mo for two. One has full coverage, other has 3/4.

Crux is probably a lot younger than you, too.

My truck with a 350 is actually cheaper by $160/yr to insurance than my Camaro with a v6 due to the Camaro being a "sports car". Nevermind that any late-model family sedan has more horsepower and torque than my car. The insurance business is such a racket.

Re: Worth Keeping?

Its driving record and age also.

I paid last years bill (due again in August) $932 for a full years coverage with AAA on my two daily drivers. 100,000/300,000 $500 dec.

plus I pay an extra $172 for road side coverage and to 200miles free towing for four times per year since I do not carry spare tires in either vehicle becuase of their uniqueness and not able to accept spare tires (Both carrs are built and dounuts tires will not fit over the brake setups)

edit- that $932 was for both cars together, not each

That's not a bad deal. I pay $75/yr for AAA Plus(discount through my employer) and $688/yr on the truck alone(with state minimum liability). I wish I could find a place to store a full size spare in the Camaro, though.

Keep It. Just bare with it and save your money. Then just buy and old beater that gets great gas mileage and store the Camaro. That's what I am doing myself.
