"Back to the Future" boost at 3000rpms
My car has no power under 3000rpms. When I finally hit 3000rpms, something happens and the car gets a HUGE boost (kind of like Marty McFly in Back to the Future, when the DeLorean hit 88mph).
Car ran just fine before my reman engine was put in. Here's what's new:
Engine
Injectors
Distributor
Cap
Wires
Rotor
Plugs
Coil
IAC Valve
Clutch
Timing is good.
Runs smooth throughout range and idles smooth.
Vacuum lines are good.
Does the boost at 3000rpms give anyone a clue to as what is happening? By the way, I was not transported through time either.
Thanks in advance.

That's where the torq curve picks up. It's pretty lazy up to about 2k then it wakes up and really comes in at 3k rpm. Is it weaker below 3k than it was before the rebuild or was it so weak before that you're only noticing the pickup now?

I'll tell you that my old engine with 315k miles had a lot more power at all ranges. There's got to be something wrong.

if its fine in nuetral maybe the drivetrain was put back on incorrectly or something. does the new engine sound healthier than the old one?

new engine sounds good. Fuel pressure checks out good. We're going to have a dyno test done today.

sounds valid, over 3k it wasn't abel to wobble around in worn out shaft bushing.
