Anyone know how to clean injectors?

Whole fuel system was contaminated in my 92 3.1. Fuel injectors have carmelization in the tips. Is it possible to blow out the injectors? If so anyone know how?

Re: Anyone know how to clean injectors?

Get a good BG fuel service. It'll clean the whole system really well and your 3.1 will run like new.
The pros swear by BG, and so do I.

oh, so no fuel's going through them... Well, if they were mine, and had that much sh*t in em I'd prolly just go for new ones. I really don't know the condition or age of yours though.

Re: Anyone know how to clean injectors?

there are good ford injectors that are refurbished on ebay for less than 100 bucks. do a search and you will find them. i did this instead of paying 600 bucks for new gm injectors.

Re: Anyone know how to clean injectors?

Will the ford injectors plug right in or is there any mods needed to do the install? By the the way, do you know what he rating is on them factory? 15# 17# 19# 21#??? This is the first time ive really worked on a fuel injection system.

Re: Anyone know how to clean injectors?

The Fords will work without any mods..you will need to reuse the o-rings off your originals. They sit a bit lower(shorter length) but still work without any mods.I believe they are just under 15# for their flow rate.

i know at advance auto parts we used to have people pulling there injectors and cleaning them with the seafoam solution and then running it through the tank.

Re: Anyone know how to clean injectors?

i bought my new injectors from ebay also i got all 6 for like $200 way better then getting them from a local parts store...they wanted $160 each

As far as replaceing them goes. Its really really easy...I put mine in in about a half hour and i recommend buying all new gaskets for the intake plenum when you take it off because all of mine fell apart when i unbolted everything but once you get the intake plenum off you just unscrew the fuel lines, unplug the injectors, unbolt fuel rail, then pop in new injectors and put it all back together...it seems hard but actually very simple

if you just want to try cleaning them you can take them out and soak them in kerosene for a while...i have never done that but i heard that it works
