Re: aftermarket cams??

those cams don't have the rpm range i'm looking for...

(trying to stay around 6k-6.5k rpm redline)

thats pointless due to the factory intake design power drops off fast after around 4,800 rpms. so even if u got a high rpm cam it will be mismatched to the rest of the motor

Re: aftermarket cams??

the turbo makes a world of difference compared to an n/a motor, a turbo will move air at rpm vs the na setup

ah ok. so i'm guessing there isn't any high rpm N/A manifolds available for our engines then?

About the 3rd post on down, nothing ever really got resolved, just alot of arguing. But from what I understand there are really no good aftermarket intakes for these cars.

k, well what i understand from that thread is that the heads and TB are causing the intake restriction and keeping the engines from being good up top. i mean i know my stocker revs higher than 4500rpm (6k rpm redline, had it there a few times during auto-x races). so from the looks of it a new TB and P&P the heads will give me gains???

Re: aftermarket cams??

yes that will get u more gains then swaping the intake.

the intake flows well enough as it is, the reason it drops off power at 4-4,500 rpms is cause of its long runner/small plenum design

contact this guy for a tb
http://www.throttlebodys.com/FieroTBs.htm

ull prolly have to send him ur stocker to get the correct linkages put on it but its cheap

i'm still kinda new to this stuff (building up a performance engine). do you think you'd be able to explain how the LR/SP design hinders the topend rpm???
