TURBOs fanilly

hey guy I'm finally getting this twin turbo v6 3.1 underway but i have some questions.

  1. do i need two Bov's because if it's one pipe to the throttle body ?
  2. Ok I'm running 8 PSI for now to i get the car fully rebuilt but sense i have two turbo would i have to divide the boost or is it still 8 on each?
  3. is the stock oil pump if i use a T fitting enough able to send enough oil pressure to both turbos and the motor under 5w30 in winter and 10w-30 in summer or should i go thinner?
  4. and how much oil pressure does a turbo need ?

Re: TURBOs fanilly

1)No you only need one correctly sized one
2)8psi is still 8psi nomatter if it's 1,2,3, or 58 turbos. The amount of pressure they will develop together is dependant on manifold restriction, exhaust velocity/backpressure, turbine speed blah blah ect... Research your turbine selection.
3)What's the motor's condition? Independant lines are probably best.
4)Motor's pressure should be enough.

Are you doing this to your stock 3.1? What are you doing for fuel management? Details please.

Re: TURBOs fanilly

sorry about the spelling i was in a rush in the main posting
the motor doesn't eat oil or anything I'm just confused on how to run the line to both turbo what do i tap or had on ?

well i got someone to turn the computer to read boost add gas retard timing the whole nine. I'm planning on 9-12 psi and i have a t3/t4 57 trim like in the sticky about turbos in the v6 section . I'm going with 28# injectors in a pertty much stock block.

Re: TURBOs fanilly

if ur going to use twin turbos like in my sticky u better drop it down to twin t3's, or plan on running more then 8 psi the t3/t4s will surge like hell at low boost

Re: TURBOs fanilly

You might just tap off the oil pressure sensor port on the oil filter boss if you can't find anywhere better.

Re: TURBOs fanilly

a t3 mmm is that a like the t27 they have on Ebay too ?

i was looking at a remote oil system to run form a 2 quart tank to the turbos and then drain back, and just cut the engine oil totally out but it's just where and how many psi do you need for a turbo?

well since I'm not building the engine to the summer time i was planing on low boost but project89, i seen u at karzyhouse customs when u dyno your car how much can these engines take before you need to fully build it besides the tune and the pistons im getting now ?

oo and where can i find some header for this i seen someone was making them but can't find the thread

Re: TURBOs fanilly

Just tap the motor. You'll need another pump and a bunch of stuff you don't really want for remote oiling. Pm firstfirebird about his header kit, although that's for a single.

they sell knockoff t3's on ebay but they are junk, ur best bet is to get a set off of some older volvos in the junkyard, i would highly suggest sticking with a single turbo its much simpler that single t3/t4 you have will get you well into the low 12's on o properly built motor.i was building headers but my job has me moving around the country right now, im out in iowa and moving to pa in 2 weeks hopefully i will be able to stay in pa and if so i will start building them again

btw my motor runs a stock bottom end pretty much stock crank stock rods cast pistons just with good arp fastneres

Re: TURBOs fanilly

after doing some math and pricing your right project89 its way easier and simpler to do one turbo just need to work out the placement and get the headers
