vacuum line problem

i have better pics of the vacuum line i have a problem with. Its sucking in air.
The Red wire goes down and above it is the 2 black vacuum lines. The line to the Left is not connected.
The line to the right connects above the engine block.

Re: vacuum line problem

One connects to the intake manifold, the other connects to the heater bypass valve near the front of the engine near the passengers side frame rail.

Re: vacuum line problem

Sounds like the loose one connects to the heater valve... Is the heat on constantly?

Also, I'd find a way to change how those spark plug wires in the second pic are run... Our factory sized wires aren't the best quality, and the vacuum hoses make good grounds when touching the aluminum of the intake.

What I meant was "Is the heater core constantly hot?" With that core bypass valve not connected to vacuum, the core will always have hot coolant circulating through it, so the air coming from the A/C will be less cold.

Re: vacuum line problem

It's the round black thing with 3 coolant hoses attached to it that's right next to the alternator. The vacuum line plugs into the nipple at the top, which is facing the A/C box.

Look to the left of the alternator in that pic, below the A/C accumulator. It looks like it might have SOMETHING attached to the vacuum input, but what that is is anybody's guess.

Yeah, you know... Down by the passengers side frame rail near the front of the engine. You could always search... The heater valve is pictured in several threads.

Re: vacuum line problem

That's the way mine is... The original factory line got melted to the exhaust somehow not too long after I replaced the valve the day after I bought the car.
