Fuel pressure is good. It's only supposed to drop about 4-5 PSI running.

Well the FPR is set for 43 psi stock I believe, so I guess that's right assuming the pump is supposed to have comparable output, but it might need to be higher, I don't really know...

If you have the TPI intake one quick way that worked for me to check out the MAF was to disconect the small tube between the intake and the throttle body and then take it for a SHORT drive. I am not sure as to the validity of this, but I believe if the engine does not detect a MAF if goes to a sort of default. It worked for me when my 2.8 started bogging down. I just went to the local scrap and picked up a new one after that and it ran fine.
Note that I really wouldn't recomend this in a dusty or grimy enviornment, as you are esentially just pulling in air without a filter. So, yeah, disclaimer. Could also use the paper clip trick for pulling codes.

I'm starting to get the impression that's the problem, if not fuel or spark, that only leaves compression, sensors, intake system or exhaust system issue, the latter two which are unlikely.

Yeah I have been waiting for it to warm up again outside. I think I'm going to check compression, check all the spark plugs again and see how they look. And reset the TV cable. If those don't work... maybe I just have dud.
It is a Jasper create engine. Has anyone ever had problems like this with their stuff? It only has about 9,000 on it right now.

Oh my
Today as I was trying to figure out why my TV cable wouldn't self adjust I found the problem!
As I was opening up the linkage to WOT to try to adjust the TV cable, I keep hearing a click. I thought I was just reaching WOT. But then I look around the back and the linkage was hitting the tightening strap that holds the rubber intake hose onto the intake manifold.
The previous owner had the engine replaced and who ever did it didn't turn the strap around far enough to clear the linkage.
I have literally been driving around with nothing more than maybe half or 3/4 throttle! The TV cable was never adjusted right because it had never been opened up to WOT. Now shifts right AND I can climb hills! It really does have some power!
And to think I was about to replace the whole engine for that one little strap! This is a good day!

Glad to hear you kept & replaced the cat. Despite emissions testing in some peoples area....What fail to realize is that just just there isn't emissions testing, it doesn't make it legal to remove emissions stuff.
The emissions stuff is a FEDERAL requirement to have. So, even if there is no testing, an inspector would be well within their right to fail a car, for having any of its emissions parts removed.
Some day the government might wise up & do just the sniffer test, no visual. If what comes is clean? The car passes. If it isn't clean? The car fails. But they won't, because it will cost them money because of the lack of tickets they can write & collect revenue off those tickets.
