possibly stupid, but car wont start because...

I replaced the battery finally in my 87, started up fine, ran fine after a minute, started up several times with no problem. I have it parked on ramps now currently, The front sits maybe 5inches higher than the rear. When i went to start it, just kept cranking, no turn over...
Is this because of the angle and no fuel getting to the engine somehow?

I doubt it. Just imagine if you were parked on a hill. It should start regardless.

that's what i thought, but i didn't know because it's over 20years old they were made different. Any idea's to why it just stopped starting? Could something have gotten into the fuel filter? i don't understand why it just stopped sudden.

Being at an angle does nothing, only way it wouldn't start like that is if it was too low on gas, and it ran for 10 minutes total while on the ramps or you took it off? If you took it off, and it only ran for 10 minutes on level ground with 3 gallons of gas, and it wasn't leaking like a sieve then it's a fuel delivery or spark delivery problem. Next time it won't start, spray starter fluid into the throttle body, then try-just don't make it a habbit because it's said to be bad for injectors. If it starts right up and won't without, then you have a fuel issue, or possibly a vacuum leak or timing issue..

id check the cap, rotor, ignition module, timing and check the spark plug wires and boots.
