New Mods, estimated HP

How much HP should I gain by changing to K&N Air Filter, Dynomax Catback, and giving my car a full tune-up?

Well, the tune up will basically restore your car to its original HP, the K&N will give you about 1 hp and the dynomax will give you somewhere between 5 and 12 hp.

Then again, what does my opinion count for

Nah, I think he could get more. The catback alone would give him 10, maybe 9 HP. Exhaust give Z28s 13+ so one for our car will be a little less. K&N...Slim to none. Actually it all depends on your car. Some people here have felt changing over to a K&N but most of us arent that lucky. It is worth the money however. But dont stop there, take the airbox off, it will make a difference! And the tune up will be noticed right away. All in all I would say around...10-15HP.

When I did my K&N, I bet I got around 8hp! The reason being the old air filter was all rusty and wasnt letting any air in! The jackass before me, forgot that the air filter needed to be changed!!! I also moddified it at the same time.

I know some guys that had a 95 mildly modded Z, and they put it on the dyno, and while they had it there, they did a few runs with a stock new Fram filter, and a stock new K&N. The Fram flowed better buy 2 HP consistently. Just an interesting point...

Well, I was about to take a long distance trip, and decided to check my air filter first considering i just got the car and haven't done anything other than changing all the fluids. I'm glad I did...the old one was nasty, I'm not even sure if they ever changed it. So I did notice quite a bit difference when I dropped the K&N in. As for the rest of the stuff, I'm in college right now, but I get out the 15th and plan on doing everything the 16th. Then it goes in the paint shop the 18th. Tell me what you think...i have a hood and stuff now, but I got the car for $750 and it runs fine.

that's a nice looking bird, no matter what the price. The body looks straight too, unless there's some major damage on the other side of the car, i'd say it's a beauty. I'm looking for a bird for my friend, and i've found several around here, but even the 85's like mine, are costing 1,200 bucks, and they look like crap compared to mine. But still, nice car, i mean, i paid more than that for my new motor. good steal.

Yah, my mom got lucky. She works at a car lot, and this was traded in. The body IS straight and all I had to replace was Fender, Bumper Cover, Hood, and driver headlight assembly. Parts ran me about 500 altogether, and my paint job will be around 500 (We know someone who owns a paint/body shop, and I know someone who owns a Maaco...so either way, I get out cheap.) This was/is my dream car...except in my dream, I had 2 more cylinders to play with...but hey, can't complain. Now if only I could get a girl even CLOSE to the girl of my dreams....hope my girlfriend doesn't read this.
