I found out what to expect....Geeze this is cool!

Got ahold of my buddie who is a mechanic. He had just gotten home from an auction when I called. We talked and talked. He thought it was really cool that I wanted a Camaro.

I'm going with him next friday to an auction just to see how things happen and whats usually there. Maybe I'll test drive a Camaro.

Anyhow he told me that I should expect "about $1500 and you can get a '90-92 in great condition". I asked what the price range was exactly and he said they are usually about $1,000-1,500 depending on how nice you want the car to be.

So thats it. I'm springing a whole $1500,probly $2000 even fgor all the fees and taxes plus tags for a NICE hopefully '92 RS with T-tops....Ah yes,*drooling* I want T-tops.

Well this makes me verrrry happy to say the least. Dealers auctions rule.

I decided I dont care what i get. If its a V6 RS,thats cool, but I'll also get a 305 V8 if they have one. Just depends on what they have. To tell ya the truth,I really would kinda like a 305....

Ok Ok this is the V6 board so I know I'll get spanked, but cmon...Iwont be a dork telling dudes to add two cylanders when a RS guy asks what to do for speed

I am just so glad I'm gonna get me a Nice camaro..... Time to find some more 3rd gen pics to paste to my wall and finish my wallpaper...

I doubt a 1992 in great condition would be 1500. More like near 5,000.

They are always dirt cheap at dealers auctions. How do you think the dealers get all the money on the resale.

Red 1986 SC, 2.8L, newly rebuilt 700R4, 3.42 Posi, t-tops, 133K miles and counting, K&N air filters, hopefully more to come!

Here in the Lou (St. Louis) we have the police auctions. a friend of mine, got a 94 Grand Am for 1000 bucks, the car looks great, had a little engine trouble, but that only cost like 500 to fix. So, auctions are an awesome place to pic up cars.

*knock*knock* Hello McFly! He said dealer's auction.. you could prolly get a excellent condition '92 Z-28 5.7 (not herritage) for 3-3.5k.. pay attention Monkie. Dealer's auctions are a little secret world we common folks are supposed to never know about because of just how cheap these things are.

Trust me man,I aint lying. I trust my friend who told me that too. He only goes like once or twice every week to the auctions,so he's got a good idea what to expect.
If they dont have a V6...Hello 305!

Hehe...through work I get to go to the auctions...gonna start this spring

I probably won't be looking for a 3rd gen though. I wanna keep my car, and pick a driver up cheap. Can you say '97 GTP with under 40k miles for $11,000??
